I am a Spanish Nurse, qualified in 2010 from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (Madrid). Very early in my career I found my love for Emergency Medicine. I obtained a Masters degree in Accident, Emergency and Critical care, which included an expertise course in critical care transport (essential to work for the Ambulance service as there are no Paramedics in Spain). In UK, I undertook a PG-Cert in Learning & teaching in Higher Education and an MsC in Advanced Clinical Practice, including a Non-Medical Prescribing V-300.
I am currently a Sr.Lecturer-Practitioner and Clinical Skills Lead for Medicine at a local university. I have taught most of the modules of the ACP qualification and I was the lead for the Minor Illness module. I am also a National OSCE Examiner for Physician Associates. I am also currently working in the Emergency Department as a nurse & trainee ACP at Mid-Essex Hospital Trust.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I was deployed to the London NHS Nightingale Hospital to train new staff at their training centre, which was situated in the O2 arena. Training non ITU staff to work in this area was challenging. Following this role, the NHS Nightingale was nominated and a finalist at the “30th Nursing Teams Awards”.
My other qualifications are HEMS specialist, FWAA (Flight Nurse), ALS, pATLS and over 2,000 hours in CPD. I offer short CPD courses for healthcare professionals such as ECG interpretation, BLS updates, Minor injuries & Minor Illnesses updates etc.
