Medical Secretary – Part-time, 16 hours per week, days and times to be discussed at interview
Job Description:
We are seeking an efficient and highly organised Medical Secretary to join our dynamic team at Mill Road Surgery. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice, supporting our medical staff, and providing excellent service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide administrative support to doctors and other healthcare professionals
– Prepare and manage correspondence, including letters, emails, and reports
– Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
– Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries from patients, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
– Process referrals, tasks and incoming emails from patients and third party providers
– Assist in the preparation of medical documents
– Ensure the practice’s policies and procedures are adhered to, particularly in relation to patient confidentiality and data protection
– Coordinate with other staff members to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Key Requirements:
– Previous experience as a secretary or a role of similar nature
– Excellent organisational and time-management skills
– Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of SystmOne is also desirable
– Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
– High attention to detail and accuracy
– Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
– Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
– A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent patient care
