We are a friendly, innovative, and progressive GP surgery that provides services to a diverse population in Colchester. As a training practice, we serve over 14,000 patients across two locations: Ambrose Avenue and Tollgate.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will be well-organised and have a passion for delivering high standards in patient care. The Finance Manager will be the central point for financial management, covering all aspects of the organisation. Occasionally, there may be a requirement to carry out additional tasks depending on workload and staffing levels.
The primary responsibility of this role is to maximize income generation for the practice. The successful candidate will have experience in payroll management and accounting software systems.
Other duties will include:
Managing and reconciling bank accounts
Handling financial administration
Completing claims, budgets, and forecasts
Managing invoices – Handling partner payments
Liaising with HMRC, pensions regulators, and practice accountants
Ensuring compliance with finance regulations and legislation
The ability to work independently, accurately, and in an organized manner is essential. The preferred candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be a team player, and ideally have previous experience in general practice or a healthcare setting.
