We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our busy team on a full-time basis (or we may consider two part-time applicants on a job share basis.) We are a friendly town centre surgery with 13,700 patients and are keen to find an individual who has a compassionate attitude to patient care and shows initiative and willingness to their career development.
Working under our Practice Nurse Lead and practice nurses, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
The Healthcare Assistant will be able to apply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas such as:
- Providing general and specific screening to practice patients.
- To assist with managing and developing care programmes for individual patients within specific long term condition group.
- Participating in enhanced services and vaccinations, to include in annual home visits for housebound patients.
- Planning and implementing health campaigns.
- Carrying out immunisations and assisting with chronic disease management, e.g. diabetes.
- Giving advice on healthy living and carry out NHS Health Checks.
- General clinical work including; wound care, recording blood pressures, ECG’s and phlebotomy etc.
You will work alongside our practice nurses, HCAs, GPs, ANPs, pharmacist, and other healthcare professional within our primary care network.
