Chelmer Village Surgery is looking for a salaried GP to join their practice, covering 2 sessions a week, on a Friday.

About the Role

Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group. The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • To undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, video consultations and queries, reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
  • Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients.
  • Providing health education.
  • Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards using templates provided (Ardens).
  • Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements.
  • Delivering enhanced services in conjunction with the clinical team.
  • All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

About the Candidate

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • Knowledge of SystemOne (Not essential)
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
  • On the NHSE medical performers list
  • Has an understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention & screening services
  • Takes responsibility for own career development, learning and performance and is responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date
  • Has an awareness of and complies with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g., prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, Child and Adult Safeguarding, health and safety etc
  • Has excellent inter-personal and communication skills and operates in a confidential manner

About Us

Our team consists of 2 GP Partner’s supported by one salaried GP (once post filled). We have 1Paramedic, 2 Practice Nurses and 1 HCA. We also have a variety of support staff from our PCN consisting of Social Prescribers, Pharmacists & Health and Well-being Coach soon to be joined by a Physicians Associate .The clinical staff are supported by our reception team/Secretary/Administration Clerk and Practice Manager. We are a SystmOne practice and hold regular clinical meetings, staff meetings and MDT meetings involving our community services.
