Dr Gemma Newman is a doctor, speaker and author. She has worked in medicine for 20 years and is the Senior Partner at a family medical practice. She has a specialist interest in holistic health, plant based nutrition and lifestyle medicine and is regularly invited to teach other doctors and the general public via training programmes, podcasts and conferences about the benefits of holistic health.
Another passion of hers includes planetary health, which is inextricably linked to human health, and she has spoken on this topic to other health care professionals at a debate at Imperial College, on the ‘Rhitrition’ Podcast with nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert and at the Food 2030 Conference at the European Commission in Brussels. She was also one of the experts featured in the documentary film ‘Eating Our Way to Extinction narrated by Kate Winslet. Lastly, Dr Newman is also passionate about the study of psychology and meditation, and is also interested in the field of energetic healing. She is a qualified Jikiden Reiki healer and teacher, and has spoken about this on podcasts and in her most recent book.
As a presenter she has been featured on ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky News Sunrise as well as BBC Radio and the Chris Evans Virgin Radio Breakfast Show. She was featured in The Daily Telegraph for her work in plant based nutrition. She has spoken on many podcasts including The Rich Roll Podcast, Deliciously Ella podcast, and the ‘Feel Better Live More’ podcast by Dr Rangan Chatterjee and Mo Gowdat’s ‘Slo-Mo’ Podcast. Dr Gemma was a weekly contributor to Deliciously Ella’s Podcast ‘Wellness Unpacked’ and also hosted five seasons of‘The Wellness Edit’ podcast with Holland and Barratt which was nominated for Podcast of the Year by the PPA Awards during her tenure.
